The PTA is a forum where parents, teachers, and administrators discuss and implement ways to promote quality education, expand the arts, encourage community involvement and work for a healthy environment and a safe neighborhood.  The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child's potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.  The national PTA motto is "Every child. One voice." 


The HDE PTA welcomes into membership people representing a diversity of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and political and religious beliefs.  Together, the parents and staff members work to provide a mix of volunteer hours and funding that result in a welcoming, healthy, clean, and safe environment for the students.  The HDE PTA programs include:
